At Museum of the Moving Image, you can replace a film’s dialogue with your own voice, choose sound effects and change the music. The stations are part of Behind the Screen, an ongoing exhibition about making, promoting and showing movies, television and digital entertainment.
At Astoria Bookshop, you can start with the booksellers’ recommendations, then browse new releases, new paperbacks and best sellers. It’s an independent bookshop on 30th Street.

Isamu Noguchi founded The Noguchi Museum in 1985 to show his work in a setting he helped shape. In Area 1, an indoor-outdoor gallery, late-career basalt sculptures begin the permanent installation. Noguchi arranged the ground-floor works himself, and the museum preserves their placement.
At Socrates Sculpture Park, you can see newly commissioned art beside the East River. The six-acre park has no permanent collection, so its sculptures change with the exhibition program.
Sculptor and founder Mark di Suvero named the park partly to honor Astoria’s Greek immigrant community and partly for the questioning associated with Socrates. The grounds have an artist studio, a stage and an area called The Grove. A visitor map shows where the sculptures are.
At Château le Woof, you can eat and drink with your dog in the pet area, which has tables and an indoor off-leash play area. You can also visit without a dog. The café is on Vernon Boulevard near Socrates Sculpture Park and has a pet shop.
At Astoria Park, you can read on the Great Lawn, watch skaters or walk along the river between two bridges. The park is farther north than The Noguchi Museum and Socrates Sculpture Park, so it also works as a separate outing.
