DoThis NYC is a short list of what is actually worth doing in New York, checked by humans, updated every day.
Why we exist
The good events in this city are scattered — Instagram flyers, ticket sites, venue calendars, newsletters, Reddit threads. The big listing sites solve this with volume: hundreds of undifferentiated events, some of them stale, some of them ads. We solve it with curation: we read more than 30 sources so you do not have to, and we cut the result down to what we would actually tell a friend about.
How the list is made
- Gathered wide. Editorial guides, ticket platforms, venue calendars, community boards, and the flyers venues post themselves.
- Cross-checked. An event that shows up in two independent places earns more trust than one that appears in one. Every listing carries a link to its source or ticket page.
- Checked for worth, not just truth. A brand’s marketing activation can be perfectly real and still not worth your evening. Real-but-dull does not make the list.
- Kept fresh. Past events drop off automatically. Prices and attendance numbers are refreshed daily. If we say an event is on tonight, we checked today.
The Thursday ritual
Once a week, Thursday at 10am, the weekend’s best lands in your inbox — one short email, free. You can sign up on the homepage.
